Cataract surgery, lens implants, complications, alternatives??

What are people’s experiences with cataract surgery, lens implants
versus using a contact lens to focus sight. Have people had infections,
complications, rejections, eye damage, from this procedure.
Are there any other ways of getting rid of difficult cataracts other
than surgery? Please post whatever you know.

                                  Thanks,

                                           P.R.

I had a lens implant in my right eye.  The only problem I had was
difficulty in reading.  Words would disappear from the ends of lines or
letters would disappear from the middle of words.   I’ve been able to
compensate for that over time, but I still have the problem if my eyes
get tired.  I also have a very slight distortion in the far left of my
vision field.  Still, the fogginess is gone and I’m enjoying the vivid
colors that had become gray to me over the years.
