KJL> Last year my mother introduced me to a book called "Raw Energy" by
KJL> Leslie and Susannah Kenton. It says exactly the same thing about
KJL> "sludge" and says it is caused by eating junk and too much cooked
KJL> food. I followed its advice for 6 months (due to hassles I slid back
KJL> into my old ways) and I have NEVER felt better than during that time!
KJL> (I ate approximately 75% raw veg and fruit per day and fonud I had
KJL> boundless energy and no health problems.) The book advised that one
KJL> should eat only fruit (a "fruitfast" ) for one day of each week so as
KJL> to clear the toxins out of the body. Try reading the book, it’s
KJL> well-written and pretty scientific!
Such dietary practices will show detriment in the six month to two year range
in many people. The idea of "cleansing" is basically invalid for people who
consume adequate fiber and fresh food. Fasting, especially on fruit, can be
highly imbalancing, and damaging if you are under stress. Actually, a fresh
food diet following any traditional model is itself "cleansing."
