RET Syndrome or DWARFISM

Does anyone have any information about RET syndrome or DWARFISM?

What exactly does RET stand for anyways?

Rett Syndrome is named after the Austrian Doctor (Dr. Rett!) who identified
the symptoms which are typical of the disorder.  It affects only girls,
who are born apparently normal but who begin to regress in development,
usually before 18 months of age, gradually decreasing in physical and verbal
abilities.  There is a Rett Syndrome association or society– if you
Email me I can refer you to the local president.  The affected girls still
respond well to music, so music therapy is a very effective means of
maintaining physical abilities and of improving quality of life.

We have in the video library of the Canadian Association for Music
Therapy a videotape on music therapy with Rett syndrome.  If you’re
interested in borrowing it, please Email me:

There is no charge for borrowing the video, but we do ask the borrower to
    pay shipping charges.
